Micro-savings. What are they? Micro-savings are little goals and tiny ways to save up for those small things that might be considered treats but that you would not ordinarily have the money for in your budget. These are usually one off payments and not recurring expenses that would feature in your regular budget.
Some examples might be a massage or facial or another beauty treatment, a special kitchen appliance or new bed clothes. I have created the below cheat sheet to show you how much you would need to save each day, week or month to reach your micro-savings goal in 1 year, 3 months or 1 month depending on how much time you want to wait. Note: there is some rounding in this savings schedule but it will bring you within a couple of cents of your target amount.
Micro-savings goals are a great way to budget for things you might not otherwise have in your spending plan and you can push yourself to ‘find’ the money from elsewhere. Next week I will share with you 5 easy ways to meet these micro-saving goals.
